An affordable iPhone 12 Pro Max case with premium metal button covers.
The Crave Dual Guard Case is an affordable iPhone 12 Pro Max case that's available in six colors. Its dual-layer design will protect your phone from minor drops or falls while offering a lightweight solution using TPU and PC materials. The rubber grip is a sensible addition since it will prevent your phone from slipping out of your hands or pockets, easily.
If you make use of the iPhone 12 Pro Max's wireless charging capabilities, you'll be pleased to know the Crave Dual Guard Case is wireless charging compatible. You won't have to remove the case in order to charge your phone, making it more convenient. Despite its budget-friendly price tag, this case is also shock-resistant and scratch-resistant, keeping your phone in the best shape it can be.
While the Crave Dual Guard Case won't win any innovation awards, it does really well at what it's been designed for; protecting your iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, if you spend a substantial amount of time outdoors, it might be worth investing in a more rugged case since this case is best for day-to-day use in and around the home.
The Crave Dual Guard case for iPhone 12 Pro Max is a lightweight and budget-friendly solution that can protect your phone.
While it appears far less robust in comparison to other stand-out iPhone 12 Pro Max cases, it does a pretty good job at preventing scratches, dents, and other damage that can happen through the everyday use of your phone.
And, if you're looking for a case that looks far more premium than its price tag, this might just be up your street.
Using polycarbonate (PC) and termor polyurethane (TPU), the Crave Dual Guard offers dual-layer protection against drops and shock damage.
The inner layer that touches your iPhone is soft to touch, ensuring your phone won't get damaged by the case. The outer layer is hard yet bendy, allowing shocks to be absorbed by the case, rather than your iPhone. In fact, you can pull the layers apart to easily identify them.
However, once the layers are together, it is definitely a struggle to get your iPhone 12 Pro Max to fit comfortably in a "click". It takes a fair amount of adjustment to get the phone in the case, ensuring it doesn't bulge out. But, once it's in, it's in, and it's actually quite difficult to remove.
What sets the Crave Dual Guard case apart is its metal-like covers for the iPhone's volume and lock buttons. They don't feel or look like cheap plastic and they're incredibly responsive when the case is installed.
There's also plenty of room to easily access the Ring/Silent switch without feeling like you're going to accidentally press a different button.
Underneath, the speakers and Lightning port have plenty of room to breathe, allowing you to plug the charging cable in with adequate space around the cutout.
The clear difference in the material from the hard back of the case is also a nice addition, making the ports easy to identify and giving the Crave Dual Guard case a bit of variety.
If you regularly indulge in outdoor adventures or enjoy hiking, then the Crave Dual Guard case probably isn't going to live up to the likes of the Spigen Tough Armor.
It's a protective case, but it certainly doesn't feel as robust as other iPhone 12 Pro Max cases. The rubber grip is certainly welcomed, especially on surfaces to prevent your phone from sliding, however, there's substantially less friction than there would be with a plastic or silicone case while holding it in your hand.
The camera lens protection definitely feels too shallow; while the lenses won't make contact with the surface if you place your phone screen up, it doesn't offer enough confidence they wouldn't get damaged if you dropped your iPhone at an angle.
It's also a real pain to get on and off, so it's a relief that it's compatible with wireless chargers for the iPhone.
Priced at just $14.99, the Crave Dual Guard is undoubtedly affordable, despite its few premium additions.
It's a decent investment if you're not going to put your phone through a tough time, but there are some downsides that might have been eliminated if it cost a little more.
